Gestalt Institute of the Rockies Summer Intensive

Thank you for exploring our site and for checking you the GIR summer intensive pages.

We offer the summer intensive as a way to open the training of the Gestalt Institute of the Rockies to the community. We integrate interested professionals, parents, college students, teachers and other service providers with our ongoing students as an opportunity for people to learn about the practice and life work of Gestalt therapy and theory.

We open our enrollment to anyone who feels their work would benefit from a creative organismic perspective in working with individuals, families, groups, couples, organizations and communities.

The format of the summer intensive is different than that of the on-going training. We set this format to provide a venue for people to have a depth of training and experience in a short time. We ask that you be open to an active, experimental and relational experience as a way of learning this way of therapy and growth.

Each summer intensive is focused on a topic or area that we feel that would be helpful to the community at large and further the interest of the therapeutic community. The topics have included working with trauma, couples, families, therapy, development etc. We not only bring our own experience to each topic we include others from the community with a particular expertise in a given area. We attempt to make what we are presenting real. For example we brought in a couple to work with during the intensive on couples therapy. We want you to learn and participate We want you to see the work in action.

This work is enlivening, challenging, exciting and fun! Gestalt is an experimental / experiential approach exploring our experience of and in relationship while in relationship.

The trainers skill in utilizing the entire field of experience and knowledge allows for self support to emerge with deepening possibilities for learning and personal growth.
