UPCOMING TRAINING
Summer June-Aug, 2021 Trimester - Online Live Virtual Training
Topic: Working with the body & somatic process from a Gestalt perspective: Helping your clients experience their body, sensations & emotions as a guide for deep healing and change.
As a Gestalt therapist you will learn how to help your clients experience their body, sensations, and emotions to support their growth as a whole person. Working with the body can support living more deeply by learning to move blocked energy and discover how the body can integrate unprocessed experiences from one's history in order to experience more aliveness and creativity.
Bring your own curiosity, willingness, and desire to explore your own body process. This training will ask you to increase your awareness of your sensations, breath, emotions, and energy to ground your therapy in the body, and explore any unfinished business you may have that you bring into the room with you as a therapist.
This trimester will include working with trauma, anxiety and shame. We are excited to have Dr. Sam Kohlenberg, a GIR graduate, join us on Friday July 9th to teach us an introduction into Applied Psychophysiology. WELCOME TO GIR GIR offers a unique, expansive, and creative training program in Gestalt psychotherapy. Nestled in the foothills of Golden, CO, the trainings incorporate theoretical, practical, and experiential learning that will become a pivotal point in your professional and personal journey.
At the Gestalt Institute, we believe Gestalt is a philosophy and a way of being, not just a set of therapeutic techniques. Whether you are a counseling student in your graduate program or a seasoned therapist, you will learn the theory and creative process of Gestalt therapy. You will be supported to explore and dive deep into your own process and be challenged to grow and stretch both personally and professionally. We hold the belief that we cannot ask our clients to go where we ourselves have not yet gone. You will learn that the therapeutic relationship and quality of contact is paramount, and to trust the organic, co-creative process between you and your client.
